Painting can change a room’s character in just one day. Unfortunately, painting is often done without the proper materials, brushes, correct preparation, protection and can leave you feeling like you made a mess rather than creating a beautiful room in your home.
Painting by yourself can be allot of fun and very enjoyable. Today, Andrew shares his top handyman tips for interior painting of your homes in Geneva, Nyon, Rolle, Morges, Lausanne, Vevey and Montreux.
For instant success try:
- Proper Supplies & Equipment. Prepare the work surface area and ensure you have all of the necessary equipment and supplies. Step ladders, proper clothing, tarps, protection for your eyes and allot of old cloths to help catch those drips!
- Strong Ventilation. Paint fumes can be dangerous so ensure your work area is well ventilated to protect your health.
- 1 Direction. Andrew loves to use both rollers and paint brushes. Some folk like one or the other. Find your own preference but for sure, brushes are more time consuming for larger areas. Once you have decided on a paint brush or paint roller, then consistency is key: always brush and paint in one direction. Once the paint dries, you will be able to see any irregular strokes!
- Extra Lighting. This is always under appreciated by the amateur painter. Get strong lighting to help ensure your paint project comes out the colour and pattern you want.
